It was 114 minutes of racing for the F1600 Class this weekend at Shannonville Motorsport Park in the inaugural Peter Jackson Trophy races and St LAC’s very own Danby Crowder made the most of it. In a rare weekend of rain-free racing the entrants and spectators alike had the chance to see open-wheel, GT Class and Vintage racing at its finest.
For those who don’t know Mr. Jackson, CASC-OR shared the following:
Peter’s passion was motorsport. Peter was a long time member of the amateur motorsport community in Ontario and Winnipeg, having organized, participated in and officiated at many race, ice race, autoslalom and other motorsport events. A longtime member of Oshawa Motor Sport Club (OMSC) and Vintage Automobile Racing Association of Canada (VARAC), Peter served on the Board of Directors of OMSC and of Canadian Automobile Sport Clubs – Ontario Region (CASC-OR), the Ontario Region race sanctioning body. Peter was well-known by many people in the race community, and his absence at the events will be noticed.
Never one to let the young whipper-snappers forget the importance of experience and wisdom, Danby let it be known that one shouldn’t forget to check their rear-view mirrors once in a while. Way to go, DC!
